RecordID doens't work op Page. Long live R2!

Recently I started to build in Navision 2009 R2. I was building a Page that contained a field that is of Type RecordID. RecordID has the advantage that you don't have to add KeyFields for all the tables you want to use. The field contains all the Object ID and the Primary Key. You can use the RecordRef to obtain a record. It has a downside, but that's a different story.

Everything worked fine on R2. But when I tested this on SP1, the following error came up.

It turned out, SP1 can't handle the RecordID field. I tried to use the Variable RecordID instead but it wasn't excepted either. Why wasn't this in SP1?

Microsoft Connect - What to make of it.

Recently I added a entry to Connect. See my post to connect.

Add [OK :=] to RecordRef.Open
When you use the function RecordRef.Open on a table that has no TableData you get a error. To workaround this error you have to add a find on the Object Table to check if the table has tabledata. Why not add a optional result value?

This way we can use IF RecordRef.Open THEN...

After a month I got the following answer from microsoft.
Thank you for the suggestion.
Unfortuantely at this time we're unable to consider this for the current release plan. With a stronger business case we may review the proposal but at the moment I can't see a way we can achieve this.
Thank you,

I read the reply a thought, what the hell does this mean?I replied the following:
"With a stronger business case we may review the proposal but at the moment I can't see a way we can achieve this.
I think this is a vague answer. Of course there are no problems with this because there is a workaround. That doesn't mean this is the correct way. So nothing gets fixed because the developer finds a workaround? I don't get this...

Also what do you mean by "I can't see a way we can achieve this.". Is this from a technical point of view or from a plannings point of view. Will this point ever be considered or did this post just become useless?

Haven't heard anything after my post. Is it me or doesn't this answer make any sense.
